In the Fahrenheit 451 project, we were asked by John Smith the Opinion Editor of Teen Ink to write an opinion article about media control. The article was to demonstrate to what degree the modern media is controlling society and shaping people's views and their understanding of the world. In this project, I became a better writer. Written proficiency is your abilities to express yourself clearly to various audiences in multiple genres and subject through your ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conversation. We read Fahrenheit 451 and then we wrote a persuasive essay. I learned to use Pathos (appealing the reader's emotions), Ethos (convincing readers base on the character of the author), and Logos (using reasoning, facts and logic) arguments in my persuasive essay to persuasive different groups of people about how media is controlling us.
